Dr. Shusko is a uveitis and ocular immunology specialist dedicated to the diagnosis and management of complex inflammatory eye disease through a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
He founded Ocular Inflammatory Consultants (O.In.C) in Phoenix, Arizona, to address a growing regional need for specialized care in immune-mediated eye conditions.

Dr. Alexander Shusko is a board certified ophthalmologist serving the Phoenix metro area.
He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex eye diseases, with a particular focus on uveitis and cataract surgery.
Dr. Shusko completed his medical degree at Creighton University, followed by extensive specialty training at Nassau County Medical Center (Long Island, NY) and at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where he completed a uveitis fellowship.
He is recognized for both his clinical expertise and his commitment to patient education and comfort.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shusko is active in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, continually pursuing advancements in the field of ophthalmology to ensure the best possible care for his patients.
Why I Built ShuskoMD
Patients diagnosed with uveitis often struggle to find reliable, accessible information about their condition. Much of what’s available online is either overly technical or incomplete.
I created ShuskoMD to bridge that gap by providing the kind of thorough, specialist-level education that I’d want my own patients to have access to between visits.
Every article on this site is written or reviewed by me and reflects current evidence-based practice. My goal is to help patients and their families understand what’s happening, what to expect, and how to be active participants in their care.
